You were all humble-minded and in no way arrogant, submitting rather than demanding submission, and giving more gladly than receiving. Content with the provisions of Christ, and paying close attention to His words, you stored them carefully in your hearts, and His sufferings were before your eyes.
Thus a deep and abundant peace was given to all, an insatiable desire to do good filled you, and a full outpouring of the Holy Spirit came upon everyone.
Filled with holy counsel, with good eagerness and reverent confidence you stretched out your hands to Almighty God, begging Him to be merciful if you had sinned unwillingly in anything.
Day and night you struggled on behalf of the whole brotherhood, so that the number of His elect might be saved with mercy and a good conscience.

Adorned with a wholly virtuous and honorable way of life, you did everything in the fear of Him. The commands and ordinances of the Lord were written on the tablets of your hearts.
