But so that no one may oppose us by saying, “What prevents the one we call Christ from having been merely a human being born from human beings, who performed by magical art the powerful works we speak of and for this reason appeared to be the Son of God?” we will now present the proof. We do not place our trust in those who merely make claims, but are compelled to believe those who prophesied before the events occurred, because we see with our own eyes things that happened and are happening just as they were foretold. This, we think, will appear to you as the greatest and truest demonstration.
