Do not let your fasts be with the hypocrites, for they fast on Mondays and Thursdays; instead, fast on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Do not pray as the hypocrites do, but pray as the Lord commanded in His Gospel: “Our Father in heaven, may Your name be kept holy. May Your kingdom come. May Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our debt, as we also forgive our debtors. Do not lead us into trial, but deliver us from the evil one, for Yours is the power and the glory forever.”
Pray in this way three times a day.
