The Lord did not forget Antony in this struggle but came to his aid. Antony looked up and saw the roof appear to open and a ray of light descend toward him. The demons suddenly vanished, the pain in his body immediately ceased, and the building was whole again.

Realizing that help had come, Antony breathed more freely and was relieved of his suffering. He appealed to the vision that had appeared and said, “Where were you? Why did you not appear at the beginning and put an end to my pains?” A voice came to him: “Antony, I was here, but I waited to see your struggle. Since you endured and were not defeated, I will always be your helper, and I will make you known everywhere.”

When Antony heard this, he rose and prayed. He received such strength that he knew his body now had more power than it had possessed before. At that time he was about thirty-five years old.
